Guest Blog Tuesday

Tuesdays will normally feature a guest blog. However, in order to get guest blogs, I either need to receive them or approach people. Personally, I’d prefer to receive them, as it’s less work for me. Blogs can be about any aspect of practicing, and I more than welcome posts that approach a specific instrumental technique (for example, take a look at Robin Hill’s earlier guest blog about the Classical Guitar).

If you’d like to post a guest blog, about any aspect of practicing you can e-mail it to me at content@musicpracticetips.com - or if you’d like to suggest someone who you’d like to read a guest blog about, please leave their Name and website in the comments here.

As for this week, I’d suggest you take a read of Hucbald’s recent post on his blog A Monk’s Musical Musings entitled Metronome Slow-play combined with Forte Practice. It’s a really interesting explanation on how he’s using a combination of two practice techniques - Slow play and Forte Practice.

  1. Thanks for the link. I help run a non-music blog too, and am quite busy enough, or I’d be happy to guest blog for you.

    Cheers,

  2. Ben,

If you’re looking for material for a guest blog, check out my blog, and specifically my post “Practice: Establishing a Routine.”

There are many great blogs (like yours!) and posts on the subject of practicing. I’d be hard pressed to come up with too many unique, original thoughts on the subject. But I’m hoping to write more about the subject, and ideally have a 50/50 ratio of others’ writings and my own.

    Steve
